I made a list last night and didn't realize how far behind I am in my Christmas preparations. I have almost all the food part under control, but the presents and wrapping and mailing of cards? Well, let's just say, if you're expecting a card from me, it may be there by New Year's! I'll get on it today and hopefully get it all done. I've always been one to push deadlines. It was worse when I was a reporter. If they told me, "Have it here by 10am Friday"...then that's when they got it. Not usually a minute sooner! If it cause my editors angst, and it did, then they should have said to have it there by 9am Friday! It would have been there, but not a minute sooner!
There are only 9 days left of Blog365! I don't know if I'm happy about it or sad. They say if you do something umpteen times, it becomes a habit. Of course, if you do something 365 times it becomes a chore! I just wonder about this blog thing.
I made Mango Salsa again last night to go with a pork loin roast. It was good, but December mangoes aren't nearly as good as July mangoes. Click on the link in this paragraph to get the recipe. It sure is a good thing to have with pork! Thanks Sis @ Rain Down On Me for that recipe, it's sure yummy! Sis is from Louisiana.
I also made my friend Betty's Strawberry and Bleu Cheese Salad. I had to use frozen strawberries...there were no fresh ones to be found around these parts! It was delish, but just not quite the same. I guess I'm longing for July and summer and fresh fruit and I have to take my fruit where I can find it. Betty is from Louisiana too! I'm beginning to see a pattern here. If you're from La. you must be a great cook!!
Well, the temps went up a bit overnight. It started out in the single digits, 2°, I think. It's up to 16° at 5am and it's supposed to get all the way up to 27° for a high temp today. That's just great, except that when it's this warm, it always snows. We are going to have a white Christmas for sure. I just wish it wasn't quite so white. It just started snowing, in fact.
Maybe I'll go snuggle back in bed a few more minutes. It's only 5am and Andy won't be up until 6am.
Hope your snuggle was warm and sleepy...
ReplyDeleteIt's bake day around here! Like Nikki did! Maybe a new tradition for this household! I'm excited!
And I picked up a few mangos the other day, now you have me wanting the salsa again - and there's cilantro in the house, and chips, and onion, and...
XOXOXO Ginnigal!
I know - I caught myself fantasizing about a farmer's market tomato yesterday. Yummm...mango.
ReplyDeleteHope you stay warm today!
