Cheryl from blogdom is a dynamite cook! She has the greatest recipes and is willing to share them. I think that's wonderful!! She mentioned some cookies the other day that she was taking to her co-workers. They were Cinnamon Chip Oatmeal cookies! I thought that sounded so good and then she mentioned them again. She said the recipe is on the back of the Hershey's Cinnamon Chip package. I found some of the chips at the commissary Saturday and I got 3 packages. I have never seen them before but knew I had to have more than enough for just one batch! I made the cookies on Saturday and Oh Baby! Are they ever good!! Andy loves them too. We highly recommend them because not only are they yummy, but they HAVE to be good for you too, right...with all that oatmeal!!

Another "good for you" recipe is this one for Chillied Almonds. They are crunchy, spicy and very addicting! Not to mention that they are really easy!
Chillied Almonds
1 egg white
2 t. red pepper flakes
1/2 t. garlic powder
1 t. chili powder
1 t. salt
4 c. whole almonds
Combine seasoning in bowl and blend. Beat egg whites until frothy in large bowl. Stir in nuts and coat with egg white. Stir in seasonings and coat nuts well. Spray cookie sheet (jelly roll size) with Pam. Spread nuts on sheet and bake at 275degrees for about 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool and store in air tight container for up to 3 weeks.
Mmmmm! I didn't know Hershey made cinnamon chips! I'm a cookie baking fool. I made three batches yesterday morning for a party we were having (pecan tarts, white chocolate almond raspberry cookies, and yellow cake cookies). I'm making at least six more batches tomorrow evening (mint chocolate chip and peanut butter kiss cookies among others). I'm going to be so fat!
ReplyDeleteOh Yum Tink! Those all sound so good. I've made 4 different kinds of cookies for the holidays, so far, and a bunch of other stuff. "'Tis the season to be jolly" (Jolly=fat)
ReplyDeleteWow, Gin! Those almonds look GREAT. My dad's diabetic so I can't make teacakes for him any more, but I bet he'd LOVE these! TY for posting and thank Cheryl for sharing!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
My mouth is watering just thinking about all these cookies!
ReplyDeleteNice try on the cookies being healthy. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou can tell I'm behind that I'm just commenting on this post now. I'm SO glad that you liked my recipes. Yum! I have some of those cookies in the freezer and almonds in a big ziplock. As it's almost dieting time, I'll be bringing them into work. To ruin other people's diets! If you go on the Hershey website, I think they have more cinnamon chip recipes. I've made a coffee cake with them that was also delicious.
