It's a day of new beginnings...
Today I am starting a diet. I probably won't talk a lot about it here on my blog, but I want to be held accountable. So I'm making this announcement here now! I will probably mention it occasionally, but I promise not to beat the blog to death with diet crap. But please feel free to ask about it any time you like in the comment section.
Today I start back to work. I enjoy my job and only work two 2-hour shifts most days, so it's almost like not having a job. I have great co-workers and my boss is pretty cool. So if I bitch about working, slap me down and tell me how you work 12 hours a day in a stuffy little cubicle and have a horrible boss and icky co-workers.. I have it really easy. There are only a few things wrong with working like I do...I have to get up at 4:45am. I have to go out in the dark to work this time of year. I have to drive on total crap when the weather is bad. They don't call our schools off for anything. Any other issues with my job are non-issues, really.
Today I started a journal. I am actually writing, in ink, in a journal! I wrote something for everyday so far, altho I just started doing it. My sister Marsha gave me a journal for my birthday and I'm using it. She also gave me a wonderful fat Cross pen and pencil set. I love the feel of that bigboy in my hand!
Today I made a Vision Board. It's a powerful tool to help keep my focus and to shout to the heavens what I want to have happen to me this year. It's a positive, wonderful thing. If you read "The Secret" you know what a Vision Board is and if not, just google "vision board" and you'll see what it is!
That's all for today. Hope you're having some new beginnings already, too.
beGINNIngs (I love that!)
beGINNIngs! Wow, that is so cool. I love that we are both making vision boards and that it is more than wonderful to embrace possibilities and be excited about the future. Thank you for always encouraging me and I hope we can continue to do that for each other this year.

1. 4:45 is ungodly.
ReplyDelete2. I'm retired and happier than a pig in slop,:), but my job before required getting up at the butt crack of dawn, and running like a crazy person until 2:45 when I just wanted to lay down on my desk!
3. Journal writing is sooo cathartic!
4. I hope you do well on your diet.
Ginni, I hope you'll post updates as the year progresses. I've heard about vision boards and some variations on the theme. Good wishes to you for the new year!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so unGinni like with no beautiful picture in the header!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your diet and journal writing. Here's the thing - a job is a job, you still have to be accountable for a certain portion of your day, so you can whine all you want. :)
love you -

Cool beans Ginni! Good luck with everything. I know you'll do great.

I love the sense of resolution in this post. And the way you spelled beGINNIngs.
ReplyDeleteLOL that is too cool! LOVE your new beGINNIngs!
ReplyDeleteGirl - you will be addicted to journaling in no time...trust me.
XOXO
There's something comforting about putting pen to paper. It's something you can't get from typing on a blog, no matter how much you want to. You should post a picture of a journal entry some time so we can see your handwriting! :)
ReplyDeleteI've always loved journals, and have a collection of them...all empty. I found that I didn't think what I had to say was good enough to use up a page. That's the reason I started to blog.
ReplyDeleteKeep writing, and good luck with your diet. It takes so much dedication and willpower.
You've just promted me to get going on some kind of plan for what I want to get accomplished this year. Some how I let that slip by in all the New Year fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll do great on your diet. I sense you have pretty strong will power.
