Brrrrrrr

It's 15 degrees out there, icy and snowy and I'm about to go out in it!

I broke out the leather hiking boots today, no more tennies for now. Tennies are too slippery to walk across our parking lot in, so I will be only using them on clear, no-snow days!!

It's days like today that I loveLoveLOVE my remote start! I just started my car and have about 10 minutes until I leave. Hopefully all the ice will be almost gone and I can scrape my car easily, maybe just with the windshield wipers!

I have two ways to get off this river bluff I live on, which is a great place to live when the Mississippi River floods, but not so great when you have to ski down it to get away! No matter which way I go, the hill is very long and steep. Altho one way ends abruptly at a stop sign on a fairly busy highway and the other just goes on down to a long flat area. Altho there's a stop sign at the end of that flat area, it's much easier to stop on the "backside" of the hill than on the front side. So I almost always go the back way! The only problem with the backside is that there are always deer along the road, both dead and alive. When I go to work, it's still dark and they haven't bedded down for the day yet. But they are roaming all over looking for a safe place to sleep. This must be where the deer and the antelope roam? Altho I haven't seen any antelope in this area!

Well, wish me luck, I'm off and running. Have a great day!

  4. I can't imagine worrying about all the hazards you face trying to get to work, and then shivering from the cold in addition! Good luck through the rest of the winter!

  6. Well, you learn something every day. As long as I've "known" you, I never realized you lived on a hill.

    Stay safe.
