Lamest Blogs

I ran across an article that listed the 11 lamest blogs in blogdom. Well, at least they were the 11 lamest in the author's opinion.

Of course, I had to check to see if my blog made it onto this list.

It didn't. But it could have. My blog is pretty lame. I don't include many photos anymore and my subject matter has been a little lacking in pizazz. I got a rash of shit from my sister the other day for doing a whole post on steel cut oats.

Yeah, that was pretty lame.

And when I don't type any more than one line saying I'm not posting that day... that's pretty lame too.

But I have to say, in my own defense, I've been blogging non-stop for over a year now. I blogged all of the month of November last year and kept cruising right on thru into the New Year when Blog365 began. I still have 28 days or so to go.

I've noticed a lot of my faithful readers don't blog nearly as much as they used to. Fiwa and TT and Dawn and Brad and Sally. But that's cool, it just means they are out there living their lives instead of sitting there all tucked in behind a computer screen all the time trying to think of things to say. It does get tough to think of something interesting to write all the time.

That's when I fall back on writing lame things. And for now, I just want to thank all my ***constant readers for your loyalty and faithfulness. Your comments and blogs mean a lot to me and I try to be as faithful and loyal to your blogs as you are to mine! And if you don't have a blog, I appreciate your comments too.

***that's what Stephen King calls his loyal followers, the people (like me) who have read almost everything he's written! I'm borrowing his phrase because I like it.

  1. Being one of the ***constant readers of both YOU and Stephen King, I must say I've really enjoyed my year with you, and look forward to another one next year, Gin. Love you!

  2. Lists like that are just mean.

I hope you'll cut yourself some slack in the New Year and not make yourself post every day. I've got you on reader, so I'll find your posts even if they are more sporadic.

  3. Ginn,
Do you know that I read YOU more than I do Stephen King?! Putting oneself 'out there' takes guts, even if it is about steel cut oats or just a message that you're doing fine. You are articulate and caring.:)

  4. I didn't think the steel cut oats post was lame. Fooey.

It's tough coming up with something to write everyday. I feel guilty when I don't - I know it's silly but I do. It's even harder in the winter months when I tend to hibernate and I do even less during the day to write about! What can ya do but keep pluggin along.

Fiwa has no excuse, she's just lazy. (love you sis)

  5. Ginni, dearest, I hope you will excuse me for a moment while I KICK BRAD'S ASS!

    *Ahem* Ok, better now.

You are far from lame. I LIKED the steel cut oats posts - I've been wondering for years what that was about but never remembered to look it up.

I know Blog365 has been hard on you and Sis, but I have enjoyed every minute of it. For me, this is like the old days on GardenWeb, when we all got together every day to chat, even if it was just about nonsense. I like knowing what you are doing. I know it's selfish of me, considering I never post any more, but I am going to be sad when Blog365 is over and you and Sis don't post every day.

I am having a really, really awful time at work right now. Every day my stomach is in knots and I dream about it at night. I do anything I can to distract myself from how unhappy I am, and coming and reading blogs every morning is one of those things. I can't write about it on my own blog because too many people know where I work, and also the receptionist has my blog address - and this is such a big thing for me right now that it's eclipsing everything else, including any creativity I might feel.

Just wanted to let you know, that though you may be sick of blog365, I have enjoyed every day of it.

    Love you -
    fiwa

  6. Wahahahaha....I didn't mean to start any ass kicking here!

Poor Brad, you'll have to have Jay kiss your booboo!

And Fiwa, I'm sure Brad was just joking! (You know he loves you!!) ;) I'm so sorry things are going badly for you at work. I hate when that happens. I do miss your Random 10 and all your posts, but I know you'll be back when times are better!

Ruth, isn't that list mean!! Some people find the strangest things to write about!

Kathy, I'm so tickled that you are one of my constant readers!

And you too Sis....you know I love you guys back!!

Yes, blogging is a good way to keep in touch for those of us who have left GW and I'm so tickled that I can do that because all the ones I am in touch with have always been my favorites!! I hate losing touch with people I have met online.

I don't think I could ever abandon my blog all together, just for that reason alone! I'd hate to lose any of you.

    Thanks you guys!

  7. I respectfully disagree with your sister. I found the Steel Cut Oats blog to be simple, caring, warm and informative. Personal. That is part of why we love to read you. Or even look at a single photo if that is your only choice for a day.
    Our Ginni shines through.

BUT...I read you and Brad almost everyday...really. You always make me smile.!!

  11. I don't think you're lame. I love reading what you write. And, as for me, if I don't have anything to say, I just shut the hell up! :)

Frankly, I find it annoying when people post not one, but several posts EVERY BLEEPING DAY. God! I love reading blogs, but NO ONE has that GD much to say. ahem... anywho...

You just keep right on doing what you're doing. And I'll keep right on visiting and reading and commenting. ;)

  12. Thanks Sally and TT. I love that you guys visit regularly and hope you keep coming.

If the truth were told, I sort of find it nice when I go to someone's blog and they haven't posted that day. Then I don't feel obligated to comment. Not that I don't love all your blogs, I just sometimes don't have the time to give a good comment and just leave a short little blip.

That's one thing I don't like about Blog365...I don't want anyone to feel obligated to comment every day on every post I make. It will be nice when I don't have to post every day and then you won't have to feel that you must comment. I do love your comments tho.

Anyway, I hope you get what I mean!
