I take vitamins. I always have. Well, maybe not ALWAYS, but most of my life. I've missed a few months here and there but mostly I take them.
I take a multivitamin because it helps boost the power of the other ones I take.
Then I take 100mg of B-6. It helps keep fluid levels right in the body.
B-12 helps with memory and nerves. With Dad having Alzheimer's, I figure it can't hurt!
Calcium is a given being a woman and at my age.
I also take glucosamine condroitin and it really helps my bad "car wreck" knees.
I take cinnamon capsules for lowering blood sugar.
Aloe Vera gel capsules for intestinal health.
In winter I'll add a vitamin C just to help boost my immune system.
90% of the pills I take are huge horse pills and I get tired of the time and abilities it takes to get them all down. I'm not sure if most of them are doing any good, but I'll keep taking them because I don't know just how bad I'd be if I didn't take any of them!!

Actually, it is right up my alley, girlfriend, so what does that say about ME, LOLOL!
ReplyDeleteI also take lots of supplements...a green multiple, a good calcium/magnesium with D, AND ESPECIALLY my good quality fish oil. I also drink a GREEN drink that also contains various berries including Acai.
I too step up my C and D and Probiotics in the winter.

ReplyDeleteI take a lot of pills too: a multi, flax seed oil, C, E, B complex 100, black cohosh, calcium citrate with D (three times a day), and magnesium zinc at bedtime.
We spend a fortune on over the counter stuff.
Joanie, I know you are a health-minded person. But even YOU must admit this is a pretty boring subject for a blog post...LOL!
ReplyDeleteRuth, I was just horsing around. I don't expect everyone I know to post everyday. LOL I was just in a silly mood this evening. I didn't know you were a vitamin popper too!! I put a tablespoon of ground flax seed in my yogurt everyday. I forgot that I had gotten some Vit E and put it away and haven't taken it yet. I'll have to add one or two of those a day too!

I'm great with taking vitamins if I fill my vitamin container. If I don't, no pills get taken. You didn't mention D. You do take that, I hope!
