An award and nicknames and birthdays

Today I was honored with an award from my friend Ruth at Ruth's Visions and Revisions and it made my day! I'm very flattered that she thought of me. Here's the award and the rules that go with it.



Here are the rules of the award:

1) Pick five (5) blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

Brad at Waconda Road...Brad's posts are all about family and pets and he is taking some wonderful photos with his new camera. He lives on a wonderful farm and has chickens, goats, kitties and the cutest, big dog, Bear. When I visit Brad's blog, I always come away with a smile.

Cheryl at Ladeda...I just love visiting Cheryl's blog. She just talks as if you're sitting having coffee with her. She's all about her family, her job and her life as a single mom. Her blog gives me that "welcome to my place" feeling.

Dawn at DawnHouser blah*blah*blahg...I've known Dawn for years on the internet and think she just totally "rocks the Casbah"!!! She's a very talented artist, pet lover, Chihuahua enabler and a fun gal to know. She is in the process of moving to a new house and a new life. I just love this girl!

Fiwa at Do You Speak Fiwa-ese...I've also known Fiwa for years on the internet and she's so funny and thoughtful. She posts about her life with her husband and cute little Bitsy dog. She's got a very witty sense of humor and gets me to smile every time!

Sis at Rain Down On Me...I just love this gal...she's a wonderful person, a good Christian, great mom, a super photographer and just a total inspiration all the way around! I love reading her blog as she tells about her life and feelings about her God, her family and her latest scrumptious recipe.

Thanks again Ruth for this great award, it gives me a chance to appreciate some of my favorite blogs!

Pet Nicknames

Do you have any weird nicknames for your pet? Our poor little Rosie must have a terrible identity crisis because we call her so many different names! I just wonder if I'm the only weird on or if others do it too? Here are a few of Ms. Rosie's nicks: Dodie, Judy, Geraldine, Hootie or Hootie Brown, Roadie, Lil Dawg, Doodie, Dode, Rudy, Boadie, Boodie, Miz Thang, and I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of right now. Let me know that I'm not the only one who does this...not the only crazy one! Tell me some of your pets' nicks!

Dad is 84 today!!

Today is my Dad's 84th birthday. Sister Marsha is having a spaghetti party in his honor tonight at her house. I'm making the garlic bread and salad. I'm about to go shopping for a gift and it's so tough to decide what he wants/needs that he doesn't already have! I'm sure I'll think of something!
