Tueday...time for WWC and some stuff

The WWC words for today are STONE and GLASS.
I have a ton of stones (on purpose) in my yard. I love them and collect them where ever I go. Here’s the biggest one. It probably weighs around 400 lbs and is the center of one of my rock gardens. We hauled it home from one of our trips to the cabin. I found it in a farmer's pile of field stones and loved it immediately. If you look really close at the top of it, you can see what looks like the impression of a rose. Since I grow loads of roses, well it just fits in the garden. It was such a struggle to get it in the truck and then get it out again once we got home. I’m cheating a bit and using old photos because my garden looks like yuck right now.

A smaller rock garden with interesting STONEs and plants in it.

I make stepping STONEs that go in our walkways around our garden. Here are a couple I made and then a shot of them in the walkway.
Stepping STONE

GLASS
The world looked like it was covered in glass this morning. We had a major snow-thaw Sunday and it was sorta warm (32°) yesterday and today it was back in the teens. So all those melty snow puddles looked like GLASS!

  1. What a lovely bunch of photos, i especially like your stepping stones. What do you use? Concrete? and do you mix it yourself?

  6. A garden wouldn't be the same without stones. I have a few stained glass embedded stepping stones but did not think to photograph them...

  7. Love your garden stones! I wanted so badly to get some stained glass photos for this weeks challenge but time ran out on me and I never got a chance to go find any. Sigh. Great job on yours!
