I tried to be a vegetarian once. I was able to do it for about a week. So I know I could do it if I had to, but I'm a meat eater! I love all types of meat...beef, pork, chicken, turkey, venison but not mutton, seafood but not fish. I can understand where vegetarians come from, for the most part, and I love veggies of all sorts too. But I just can't see lentils or soybeans taking the place of a thick juicy steak on my plate!
Do you abhor the thought of eating meat? Do you flinch from the sight of a perfectly done steak? If so, I'd love to hear why and how far you take it...plastic shoes?. I'm curious what the exact mind-set of a vegetarian is and would love comments to this effect.
If you eat meat...comment on that too!
One meateater here. I would be a terrible vegetarian, because I really do not like most vegetables. Now I COULD be a potatoarian, and eat nothing but potatoes in one form or another for the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteI just never liked the taste of meat from a young age. Calling myself a vegetarian instead of declaring my dislike of meat meant that my mom had to cook me my own separate meals. This was ten years ago, and I am still eating meat-free!
ReplyDeleteGirl. I know not of what you speak.
ReplyDeleteMy parents just fed out 2 big ol' steers and gave me and my brothers each a half. My freezers are crammed full of homegrown beef. What a blessing for us - good tasting stuff, as well as saving me a lot of money.
But truly, I love veggies and grains and fruits just as much...I like it all! And many's the night when a pot of veggie soup and crackers, or beans and cornbread, make up the meal.
I could not be a vegetarian. Meat is the food - the rest would be side orders.
ReplyDeleteif it doesn't move on my plate, i am all over it.
ReplyDeletei would actually marry bacon.
I'm a meat eater and I've tried the vegan diet for about a month.
