Been dazed and confused for so long...

Poor Jon, as if all the chemo isn't enough for him...and the pain meds and the nausea meds...plus some Chinese herbs to boost his immune system...plus a couple of other herbs...now he's on Prozac and some sleeping pills, after sort of an emotional meltdown!

Holy Rx, Batman!!!

I guess it's all good, if it helps him get thru the day and/or the night. That's the main thing for now...getting thru the day. And one day at a time! And in one piece!!! And not so dazed and confused.

Chess sets are littering my living room. Jon is on a chess set purchasing kick. He got the most gorgeous set of purpleheart and boxwood chess men today! I don't even want to think about how much they cost...I do know how much it cost and I'm dazed and confused!! I must say that purpleheart wood is the most beautiful wood! It's naturally a deep purple color and has a satin sheen when polished. This is one of the prettiest chess sets I've ever seen. This pic doesn't do it justice, I'll get a better one when I can get out in the sun!



A few nights ago, Jon came in and said "Mom, look at what I've got." He let me peek into his hands and there was pretty little male goldfinch. It had flown from our feeder, right smack into the deck umbrella and landed on the window sill right under the dripping air conditioner unit. It was a little wet and dazed, it was easy for Jon to catch it. We took some photos of it to show the kids. The bird sat politely on his hand while I snapped a few pix...flash and all, then flew away, landing on the roof of the garden shed. We watched as it dried off and flew off into the evening sky. I hope he returns to our feeder, only this time I hope he's in better contact with the tower before he takes off!!
