I love thunder storms!

I probably got that weird trait from my mom, who used to sit on the front porch of our cabin on Lake Okoboji (no it's NOT in Florida...it's in Iowa!) and watch the storms go over the lake. We would see water spouts, lightening reflected in the lake and all sorts of amazing clouds, choppy water as the wind whipped in so many different directions at once! I love looking at clouds. They are one of nature's most glorious sights.

Today there were beautiful white clouds in the sky when I came home from work.

Then about 4 hours later the world turned around and things looked very different. Those white clouds turned to dark foreboding gray, lightening and thunder ran thru the sky, and the water in the Mississippi River was choppy and unsettled as I drove by to take my grandkids home from our usual Wed. visit. I tried to take a few pix from the car, but they didn't turn out. Too much rain on the windshield and too dark!

I wish I had gotten photos of those clouds before the rain started! They were amazing! I'll remember next time to snap pix when the clouds are dark...NOT after it starts to rain!

Hope it's peaceful in your world. Ours was all out war between Zeus and Thor for a while there!

Thought for the day...

"A change in the weather is sufficient to recreate the world and ourselves."

  2. Ginni - clouds are so beautiful, whether they be fluffies or greybottoms, I love 'em.

I also think lake waves are most awesomely beautiful when a storm is blowing in.
