As my time-to-get-ready-for-my-trip starts to wind down, my to-do list just keeps getting longer and longer! I wish I could just take off the rest of this week and next so I can get ready.
I envy men...they just throw a few things in a duffel bag or back pack and off they go. Total prep time: 20 minutes, give or take. Total bags: One.
We women, on the other hand, have to makes lists, organize, try on clothes, experiment with packing to be sure our suitcase(s) is(are) big enough, shop, and make more lists. I have my master list, a list of things to do, a list of places I need to go, lists for each bag and suitcase, and lists of things to do at home before I leave.
And let's talk bags!! I have two Vera Bradley pouch-type bags for my myriad of toiletries, a carry on bag, two suitcases, a back pack, a bag for my electronic stuff, a bag for my medications (I'm a Virgo and don't go anywhere without my medicine chest...you just never know!) and my purse.
Whew! I'm tired just thinking of it all. But I'm sure my two sisters, friends and I will have a great time. It will all be worth it!!

Jamaica! Woot woot! How exciting! You know you're probably going to pay some pretty hefty fees for those bags, right?
ReplyDeleteI hope you take lots of pictures and tell us all about it when you get home. I love to travel, and hearing about it is the next best thing. :)
I kind of fall in the "guy" category - I usually have one suitcase and my camera bag, LOL.

Fiwa, we got sort of lucky...the airlines canceled our flight home and had to put us on a different flight, so they upgraded us to first class which means we can have two checked bags and one carry-on! (Altho one of my travel-mates reminded me that Andy won't be there to help me with my bags...LOL) Plus a purse!! So, altho I probably will try to get everything in one checked bag, I have the option to use an extra one if I want. I got a new little camera for the trip...it's a FujiFilm underwater digital. I'm really excited to try it...but I'll believe it works when I see it! It actually takes pretty good pix, but I'm sceptical about the underwater thing. I only snorkel and don't go down very deep...so this should work if the rubber seals are good. (It has a depth limit of 3 meters).
ReplyDeleteSis, I am not taking my good Canon (see above) because I'd have to watch it the entire time. I DO NOT want to have that one stolen from me (Things like that happen in Jamaica). I will take my little Canon tho...along with the one I mentioned above.
I ALWAYSALWAYSALWAYS take a journal with me. I journal on every single trip I take. I love going back and reading my journals...I have a terrible memory...LOL!
