Here are my interpretations...
Circle
These are circles I see a lot of every day...not only in my car (which this one is) but in my school bus...

A cement circle of violets...

One of Rosie's favorite furry friends, a fat little circle of panda...

Some bulbs I started to remind me that spring is just around the corner. Two hyacinths and three crocus bulbs...

Town Tourist
If I did a Town Tourist spread right now, this is all you'd see...snow, Snow, SNOW!

My house...

So to really show it off , I'm using some pix I took in good weather so you can see some of the charm of my village...
Here's our town hall...

The view from town hall...this is the Mighty Mississippi river...

We're right on Lock and Dam #14...

This is an historic house near the town hall, just a block from the Mississippi river. It's very old...notice the 4 chimneys...

Here's another historic building...it used to be a general store, now it's a museum...

An old building turned into an ice cream parlor and craft store...

This is a pasture right next to my neighborhood, about a block from my house...The same pasture is in the second snow photo above...

This is the overlook above the Mississippi river and facing I-80...it's just a little way down the road from our village...

This is the Rock River...it's on the other side of our area, so we are surrounded by rivers. It's a much wilder and less used river, but fun to float down in the hot summer...
Ginni, your photos are AMAZING. What a great photographer you are. I love seeing your beautiful town and glimpses of the river.
ReplyDeleteBrightened my day...
xoxoxoxo
What a beautiful place to live! I'm fascinated by the pics of the river. I think I would be riverside all of the time.
ReplyDeleteI love old buildings. An ideal vacation for me is just touring old places. Unfortunatly Jay's only able to endure an hour or two.
ReplyDeleteDoes Rosie take care of her toys or is she like Bear and kills them? Stuff/fluffy ones go the quickest!
Thanks Joanie, you always say the sweetest things!!
ReplyDeleteKathy, unfortunately it becomes so commonplace, we take it for granted. But I do love to go walk by the river, altho it turns more into a sightseeing visit than exercise because I see so many cool birds, barges and many photo opps! And it's very relaxing to just sit and watch the water go by.
Brad, Rosie is a fluffy killer! She eventually tears them to shreds, but we try to get them away from her before they become a problem. She's a very spoiled "only dog' and has more toys than she knows what to do with. But she has her very favorite ones and is sort of picky about which ones she plays with. Oh and she's a very good retriever too!
I hope one day we can visit you and your sweetie...your town looks so inviting and charming. I almost swooned while looking at the pics....seriously. and I LOVE your house.,...I peeked into the basement too.,...great job gal! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute town you live in, Gin.
ReplyDeleteYou can all come see us and we'll take you on a real tour!!
ReplyDeleteGreat touristy shots! I love northern buildings. There's something homey about them. Down south, people use weird pastel colors or Spanish tiles. There was a house in my Mom's last neighborhood that looked like it was made out of cotton candy.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I Love that snowy one! Wish we had snow like that. Wish my town was as picturesque as yours, too. How lovely it must be to live there.
ReplyDeleteHi Fortune Cookie! I love the look of snow, but hate driving in it...and I'm a school bus driver. Haha Our village is pretty and we're lucky that it's situated right on the Mississippi. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI know I'd love your town. Not the winter weather, but everything else, including seeing you.
ReplyDeleteAwww...thanks Cheryl! This town is very quaint and lovely...but you're sure right about the winter weather...it's a bear!!
ReplyDeleteSeems I am connected to the Mississippi River from birth. I grew up on the banks of the Mississippi River in a little town called Natchez. Now I am now married to El Capeetan, a tugboat captain who sometimes travels on the Mississippi. I can't get away from that river. ha!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics! Your town is tres cute. ac
I loved the pictures....what a beautiful place to live....it looks very flat (no mountains).
