The coldest day of the year and I get flowers!

My long-awaited Amaryllis blooms are finally beginning to open. It waited for a day that the temps are -20° with a -44° wind chill! We're finally off school due to weather and I was so pleased to see this when I got up this morning!

I'm very pleased and surprised by the pale color. I just love it!!

  3. I love those blooms. The one that RLL sent me is just now a nubbin. I want to press a bloom this time. I always say that but never want to pinch it off early. This time I think I'll do it and frame it.

Not sure the name Sis! I will have to look that one up. I got it, planted it and threw the box away. It took so long for it to start to grow, I forgot between then and now, what the name was!! LOL

Thanks everyone for your comments. I love having flowers in the winter and Andy has been slacking on buying me bouquets lately. Maybe a few well-placed hints! haha
