Short and sweet

No time for much today, and can't think of much to say anyway. That and I'm groggy from lack of sleep. I'm getting my insomnia back and it's not fun. I have to take some caffeine intravenously so I can get awake. I already took a shower and that usually does it. Not today.

Question: Why do I get my best sleep after my alarm goes off? I always set the alarms (yes, I have three...anal? Of course!) early enough so I can hit the snooze three or four times. I sleep like a baby between snooze-hitting!

I'm going straight from work this morning to help (read: watch) my sister make Christmas candy. She makes the best Mounds, Mallow Cups, Almond Joy, etc. Only this year she's had a request from her DH to make dark choc. Almond Joy. Ummmmm, sounds good! I'm off work af of my afternoon shift on Dec. 19th. So I have a few days before Christmas to make my holiday goodies.

Hopefully, I'll have time to catch a nap before my afternoon shift today!

  1. So is your title a pun on the topic of your sister's candy?

Good luck getting in a nap.

  2. Since I changed my bedroom (and stopped drinking) I sleep completely through the night now. What a relief! Is your bedroom too hot, I wonder? Your mattress too soft/hard? *Something* is waking you up during the night. You need your sleep - find out what's bugging you and rectify it. (Or, maybe it's your "change" LOL.)

I'm making candy this weekend too. Rumballs - yum! I haven't made taffy since mom died. Maybe I should try that again?

    Have a great weekend Ginni!

  3. Drink some melatonin tea before bedtime. It really works. Oh, and lick the bowl for me (the chocolate (caffeine-full), not the tea!).

  4. I'm sorry about the insommnia, Ginni. And I know just what you mean about the best sleep after "snooze". It's also when the cats are at their most affectionate :-(

  5. Unless you've had insomnia, you can't know how all-encompassing terrible it is, right? It's a vicious cycle. I'm so sorry you're going through it. Been there. I take meds now to help me sleep, and they work.

I wake up before my alarm every morning and never go back to sleep. As long as it's past 4:30, it's OK. 6:00 is much better.
