Tomorrow is ...

...Halloween!!

Don't forget to buy your candy or get ready to batten down the hatches and turn off all the lights!

If we don't want to hand out candy, we have to make sure it's dark and that it looks like no one lives here. We have so many kids that are shipped in to our neighborhood for Trick or Treating from all over. To top it all off, we get kids from the next state because they will have their Trick or Treating tonight and we have ours tomorrow.

I usually buy around 250-300 pieces of candy and when that's gone, it's gone. Our Trick or Treat hours are from 5:30pm until 8pm and we usually run out of candy before we run out of time. It's funny tho, at the latter part of the evening, when the candy bowls are about empty, Andy and I will both start giving 2 or 3 pieces of candy to each kid. Just so we can shut the lights off and close up shop! But we do get a big kick out of the kids...they are so cute...well, most of them are. It's the 6' tall kids who don't say a word but just snatch the candy out of our hands, tear off the wrapper, throw it down on the lawn and shove the whole thing in their mouths as they're walking away that turn us off. We don't get so many of those anymore.

Halloween was the night I always watched the movie Halloween every year, but now we watch the TV show Ghost Hunters. I love that show and so now, I don't want to be taken away from the TV. When I watched Halloween, the movie, I didn't care if I was disturbed because I had seen it so many times before...but since Ghost Hunters is live, I hate to miss any of it! I'll probably have Andy set the recorder. It's a live show that runs from 6pm (central time) until 1am! I don't know if I'll make it thru the whole thing or not, but if it's on tape, I can watch it the next day.

Just for the record, I do believe in ghosts and this is the only show I like and feel is real and not some put up scam! The crew of this show try to dis-prove every thing, not prove it. They debunk claims and don't just buy into every ghost story that comes across their desk but seem to do an honest investigation! That's what I like about this show. It's on the Sci-Fi channel every Wed. and it's one of our favorite nights for TV.

There are other shows out there that just go for the scare and want to make you think the ghosts are communicating thru them...they start talking in tongues and everything. Sorry, I don't buy that nonsense!!

Anyway, don't forget about Halloween, even if you just watch a creepy movie or jump out and scare someone. It's a fun day!!

  2. We live in the scary house at the top of the hill and have never had any trick or treaters. Wish we did. Thanks for the tip on Ghost Hunters - I've missed that one. It sounds like something we'll both enjoy.

And I am still going to buy more candy!

  3. If we get 5 trick-or-treaters, we're lucky. And our house is on main street! It always pisses me off that no one stops. And we have every light in the house blazing. Needless to say, we don't buy much candy any more.

I love Ghost Hunters too! Unfortunately the Sci Fi channel doesn't come in too good, for some reason and it's hard to watch it. I've never watched Halloween. Scary movies...well, *scare* me and I hate that!

    Have fun Ginni!
