In the middle of the night

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night with a million things on your mind? Then you lay there, not wanting to be awake but it's like your mind had a mind of it's own and you can't shut it down!

I'm having one of those nights. I went to bed early, which is one of the problems, but I've only had 5 hours of sleep...I need at least a couple more!

It started when I rolled over and the dog thought it was time to say hi and she got in my face and gave me a face full of kisses. Then I remembered I hadn't put my cell phone on the charger, so I started stewing about that. Then I started thinking that if I don't get some money coming in soon, my cell phone won't be a problem anymore...then my mind took flight! I started going over my finances in my mind and it all got blown way out of proportion, the way things always do in the middle of the night!

I decided the best way to shut my mind down was to get up and do a blog post! Nothing shuts it down faster than trying to think of something to write about on my blog. (That's a joke...sort of!)

Anyway, I hope all of you are snoozing away and having sweet dreams. Now I'm going to go back and try to do the same. I still have 2 hours before my alarm goes off.

  1. I've found that, as I've gotten older, I need less sleep. I regularly get up at 3:00 a.m. Thank God for the internet! It's when I catch up on my blog reading. But, you're right, when you wake up in the middle of the night and your mind starts a-whirring, you might as well get up because sleep is definitely over.

    Have a great day, Ginni.

  4. I'll have to try late night blogging as a sleep remedy - I do the same thing at night. It's amazing how big a problem can get in the dark.

  6. I try to make myself turn on the light and read when I can't sleep. It usually works. Up and lonely in the middle of the night is the worst. Did you get back to sleep?

Hope your work week's going well.
