I got up in the middle of the night..Egg Photos added!

Nothing unusual for me! I decided to just post a line or two before I go back to bed. Our computers were down from the time we got home from the funeral until after we went to bed. I just checked and it's working for the moment, so I thought I'd just post a line to say it all went very well yesterday! Why do I always dread that sort of thing so much, I make it a monster in my head...and it turns out to be a pussycat??? Anyway, just this quick post until later. Our internet service is working for now, but who knows about when I get up for the day?

Oh, one more thing. When we got home from the funeral service, we had a little gift waiting for us on the hen house floor! One of our girls laid her first egg. It was perfect, brown, a little bit speckled and tiny! I took some photos and will post one or two tomorrow! It couldn't have happened at a better time! I'm excited at the prospect of fresh eggs and that time is coming fast. Go girls!!

Here are pictures of our first egg! Isn't it the cutest, most perfect little thing! I don't think we'll eat it because it's so tiny and they were still eating chick feed (medicated) yesterday when this was laid. They were getting switched over to hen-layer feed and today they are finally completely off the medicated kind. I don't want to eat medicated eggs! So I'll blow it out and paint a picture on it. :)
