Bills, low water pressure, and other mundane things

It's a day.

We woke to very low water pressure from our kitchen faucet. The other faucets in the house are working just fine and the pressure is normal. Andy is working on that right now. I'm praying that he doesn't break anything that will need a plumber! It's not in our budget...of course when is a plumber ever in the budget?? I just heard, as I was typing this, water spraying all over the place. He had taken off the faucet and then turned the water back on. Andy was a diesel mechanic in the Navy...NOT a plumber! I'm laughing my butt off because not only is there water all over the kitchen, but Andy is soaked! Well, at least he discovered that the pressure TO the faucet is okay! We have very hard water, it's probably just lime build up in the faucet itself. Maybe all it needs is a little CLR! As I said before, I just hope he doesn't break anything!!!

I'm going to take my bills and checkbook out on the deck and pay bills this morning. I might as well do it out there...it's a pretty nice morning but it's going to get hotHotHOT today! I have a few other things to mail and will just stop by the post office on the way to visit Jon later.

I'm so relieved to have a rather boring day planned. We had been going to the movie on Wednesdays because it's Senior Day on Wed. and very cheap to go. We get Senior tickets, even tho we have no idea who they consider seniors...I guess NOT coloring my hair can be a good thing! I'm pretty sure we aren't going today. I don't know if there's anything worth seeing on right now. I haven't checked lately. We already saw Hancock and it was pretty good, but there's really nothing else playing that we care to see. We need to review what's playing tho, we haven't looked in a while and those movies change more often than the weather!!

I've discovered a good thing. I love these little tube-shaped packets of flavoring you put in a bottle of water. I got some raspberry lemonade and Hawaiian Punch flavor packs the other day and they are so light and refreshing and no calories! I tried some before and they were kind of nasty tasting. They were supposed to be green tea with some other flavor included and I just didn't like them...I can't get into green tea! These are very good tho. I think they are made by Wyler's or maybe Crystal Light and they were only a buck for a box of 8 or 10. They are sure refreshing when I'm walking on my treadmill.

I've been taking vitamins and glucosamine for the last few months. I think it's helping my bad knee. I ran out of the glucosamine a week or so ago and got more...this time I got Osteo-Biflex triple strength...they had it on sale at Walgreen's...buy one get one free. It promised that you'd notice a difference in 7 days of taking it. I think I am starting to notice that it's helping. It helped me so much before, I took glucosamine for about 3 years and it really helped. My knees have been bad since I was in a car accident when I was 18. No seat belt, metal dashboard, dents in the dash that looked like Dolly P. had been leaning on it. My knees sounded like Rice Krispies just after adding milk, whenever I'd go up stairs. That crackling joint sound went away and has never come back.

I try to eat a small handful of almonds everyday and a few Brazil nuts too. They help keep the heart healthy, reduce blood sugar, lower cholesterol. And they are a good satisfying snack and as good a "fat food" as olive oil is for you! It's been proven that eating nuts and nut butters can really aid in staying healthy. I love peanut butter too...I have it on toast or on a banana at least once or twice a week. In fact, that's one of the things I'm having for breakfast today. And saying that, I'm outta here. It's getting late and I need to eat something.

  1. Hey bughugger - just stopping by quickly to give you some hugs. My mom is here and we have been yakking nonstop for 3 days. :)

I'm sorry to hear that Jon is not doing so well. You know that you are both always in my thoughts and prayers. The food you made for him sounds delicious, I hope he enjoyed it. I'm sure just the thought that you made him something so special made him feel good inside.

Congratulations on your flower wins - that sounds like a pretty good haul of ribbons to me.

    Love, hugs and prayers,

  2. I wish I could take glucosamine, but it's made from seafood shells. (Big sigh)

I eat a handful of nuts most days too, but I buy the South Beach diet mix which is almonds, cashews, and macadamia nuts. Maybe not as heart healthy as just almonds, but I do love the mix.
