Off the cuff...

We’ve been enjoying our first harvests from our little veggie garden and I just couldn’t resist taking a photo of these. They are small but they are lovely and yummy!

I haven’t posted a photo of Rosie lately so I took one the other day and am just getting around to editing it so it can be posted. Rosie would give her eye-teeth for a treat and she loves that fake bacon in the form of dog treats. Here she is after she got a treat, really making the most of it. She seems to savor it. If it truly tastes like bacon, who can blame her?

I have a huge project today. I told all the people who are still working at the bus garage that I was bringing in lunch for all of them today. Andy and I are making egg rolls and pork fried rice. I’m only feeding 15-16 people but it is a lot of work since it’s all homemade. I’m using those onions we grew, from the picture above, in both of them.

I was almost run over by a hummingbird yesterday. It only took a couple days of putting my homemade nectar in the feeders and they are back! I'm so pleased about that!

Yesterdays storm was quite strong and the winds were amazing. The scariest part was that the wind was blowing very hard and then it just stopped. Dead calm! It also went from warm and muggy to cool. I always worry about tornadoes when that happens. On my bus route in the afternoon, I noticed a lot of trees broken and branches down. We had a bit of damage ourselves. Our deck table blew over and the umbrella sailed out onto the patio. I had the terracotta pots sitting on the table that I was planning to use for my stacked tipsy pots. Two out of five broke. Now I'll have to remember to get a couple more so I can make my funny little project.

Storm damage...

tt, wow, we do have a lot in common. I'm so glad you visited my blog. Come back any time. And please do make a tipsy pot stack. You'll get a kick out of people's reaction! I planted potatoes in a horse tank. As they grow, I add more and more dirt. By the end of the summer, I should have a tank full of potatoes! I'm excited to see what I end up with, I love digging potatoes...like little treasures. Haha Keep an eye on my blog, I'll be doing a post photos of the tank as the potatoes grew.
