She loves going to visit grandpa (my dad) and usually acts very coy and shy around him. She loves the attention he wants to give her but she gets just close enough for dad to pet her without falling out of his chair and she lets him pet her for a second then off she goes. I wish dad could have a nice little dog like this. It would be so good for him. But he's probably better off not having a dog since he's in the early stages of Alzheimer's and as much as he tried, he probably wouldn't be the best caregiver for a pet. Altho he's very faithful about his hummingbird feeder. But that's a bit different. So in the mean time we'll just keep taking her for visits. He sure enjoys her!
We recently got one of those doggie toenail trimmer dremel-like gadgets and Rosie will sit there stoically and let us do her nails, even tho it makes a humming buzzing whirring sound. Not too bad for a pup that is sure the vacuum cleaner is a wicked sucking witch that's come to eat her. Or that Andy's electric shaver is the spawn of the devil. And you should see her when we use the battery operated push-button tape measure. It makes a whirring noise that sends her into a frenzy of action to protect the house from the weird metal snake! She won't rest until it's back in it's hidey hole! I was sure the toenail thingy wouldn't work without major doggie downers, but she just sits there a wee bit quivery, but not fighting it at all. She's getting even better with every use. Such a brave dog!
Here are a couple more of Rosie. Such a good dog.

Sweet little apple-head!
Rosie is such a sweetheart. I love the one white pawser.
ReplyDeleteI love it when she looks right at the camera like in the first pic lol.
"Are you lookin' at me?"
She's a pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteI've said it before and I'll say it again - Rosie is almost impossibly lovely!
ReplyDeleteShe sounds a little like my Tilly. Till was rescued from a gang of yobs who had tried to cut her ears off with a pair of scissors!! (two big slits were left in her ears).
Understandably, she is nervous around other people. I'm so glad Rosie has you. She is a lucky dog - and you are a lucky girl too. Give her a kiss from me.
Your dog-daft pal, Reg.
She's a sweetheart. I love the photos.
ReplyDeleteGin - I love Rosie.
ReplyDeleteI wish she and Zeus could meet!
XOXO
I want to smooche that little pup
