We're back!!

I'm so thankful to be home. The drive home today was just horrid! It was total white-out conditions about 1/2 the way. Packed snow in the interstate with semis flying by about every 3 seconds blowing snow fluff up so badly we couldn't see at all until they got by...just about the time one truck's fluff went away, another blew up. If I hadn't been so concentrated on my driving, I would have gotten a picture...but all you'd have seen was white, white and....oh....did I mention WHITE? Our guardian angel watched over us and we made it with only a couple swerves. Luckily, as I told my sister, I AM a professional! LOL

Glad to be home on my computer, hopefully I'll have a decent post tomorrow.

I love my iPhone and was able to do a little on the internet while I was at the cabin, but I couldn't post much because everytime I'd get a long post written out, I'd lose my connection. I deleted the drafts that were saved (I didn't know they would save like that) and figured I'd just post something when I get home on the biggirl computer! I did get to keep up with some of your blogs, but I still have quite a bit of reading and commenting to do.

Here's the photo I posted before I left...

And here is almost the exact same view, as of Saturday...

Now I have to have a glass of wine and chill.

  1. That drive sounded terrible. I would have been cowering in the backseat!

Is the lake frozen over? Do people skate? I can't wait to read about it in your next post. Welcome back!

  3. That is the COOLEST! Dillon was amazed at the frozen lake...it looks like somebody was driving out there on it!

We had about a half day of sleet that was gone before nightfall. We thought we were cold. lol

I'm so glad you're home safe, girlfriend!

  5. Yes Cheryl, I suppose you could ice skate on it, if you had a mind to in -11° temps! You'd have to clear off about 5-6" of very hard snow tho.

Hahahaha...pond Fiwa? That's the northern tip of a 7 mile long natural lake. Our cabin sits on a hill overlooking the lake, our bay is about 1.5 miles across...I've swam across it before. (swum? swimmed? LOL Grammar! Gotta love it!!) The wine was divine!

Sis, I got some pix of people on the ice in their trucks. My sisters had a few too many and drove out on it. I got movies, but didn't go out with them. I've been there, done that, got the shirt... already once in my life and that was enough! I'll post some pix for Dillon.

Dawn, if you look carefully you can see the docks and boat hoists stacked on the beach in the snow pix.
