Snow

As is the character of the Midwest...it snowed. It is December, after all. We usually have snow in December, then it's in the 60's in January but just for a little while. Some of the winter months bring dangerous temps, unbelievable wind chills and frostbite!

I haven't been very diligent this year and still have all my garden ornaments out in the snow. This morning, there are cement angels, sculpture children, stone critters, and even a plastic flamingo whirligig all wearing a coat of white...as if I wasn't expecting to get snow in December. Duh!. My bad!

Here's what one corner of my garden and pergola looked like a few minutes ago. Br-r-r-r-r-r-r...it's cold out there!

This is the view thru the bedroom window. There's condensation on the window that makes for an interesting "bathroom window" sort of effect!

I don't really mind snow, as long as it stays off the roads. School buses slide alarmingly easy in icy or snowy conditions. Give bus drivers a break if you happen to see one. Remember, it could be your little darling child we're trying to get safely to school and back!

Thought for the day...

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..."

A song

  1. Be careful on your route then! I hate driving in snow, I can't imagine how you do it in a school bus.

Girl, do not even speak to me about garden cleanup. I am so horrible about fall cleanup - as in I don't do it at all, and now everything looks craptastic outside.

    Stay warm!

  2. I'm in awe of those of you who grow roses and have to do the whole winter-protection thing. Nevermind fall garden cleanup. I'd flunk for sure.
