Party!

Last night I went to a huge 50th birthday party for my boss, with three of my friends/co-workers. I had a blast. We ate, danced and were merry for the entire evening. There were over 250 people there and what fun they were!! A couple dozen of them were co-workers. It's fun to party with co-workers, you see a totally other side of them in that situation!!

They had a great soul-food meal including fried chicken, ham, baked mac & cheese, collard greens, sweet potatoes, green beans with bacon, corn bread and rolls. Gawd, I love greens! I think I was African-American in another life!

I haven't danced like that for a long time!! I've missed it! The Cha-Cha Slide, the Stroll, the Macarena, the Electric Slide, the Mississippi Slide, Strokin' ("...Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter, Clarence Carter...ooooo shit Clarence Carter!!") In another life (back in the 90's) I used to line dance almost every night and really got into it. I have even choreographed a couple dances that were taught at a giant line dance event held in this area. It used to be an annual event, I'm not sure if they have it anymore or not.

I love all those line dances and we danced so much last night, I didn't think I'd be able to get out of bed this morning! But I did and I feel great! I gotta find a place to line dance regularly again. It's just so fun!!

Oh, and did I mention that there was birthday cake?

Thought for the day...

"...my life is better left to chance, I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance."
