And how appropriate that this is happening just a day after we celebrated the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King's dream is coming true.

We're going to watch as much as we can on TV. I'm sure it will be really interesting to see all the events and especially the inauguration.
Prayers, good wishes, . . . and patience.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a long journey for improvements on civil rights and equality, and with Obama being sworn in, the civil rights movement have come full circle since the "I have a dream speech". I hope Obama can concentrate on increasing jobs, advancing education, and the decreasing of our dependence on fossil fuels.
ReplyDeleteThe day many of us have waited for is here! Ruth's right, however: we need to exercise patience.
ReplyDeleteHe has the weight of the world resting on his shoulders. I'm so excited for today!
ReplyDeleteI watched on line - the big moment was over in like 2 minutes!
ReplyDeleteI hope people remember he's constrained by many conflicting priorties. Ruth hit the nail on the head. Patience.
Oh yes, I agree with all of you...Patience is important. But it's sure going to be interesting watching the process from a citizen's perspective.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad there will be a new attitude and a fresh outlook. I think that will help right from the beginning!
To answer your question... 'H' is a tricky one. Use of 'an' or 'a' is usually determined by the first sound of the succeeding word. We say "an idiot" because the 'i' is a vowel sound. "H" however can be pronounced or not. In the case of historic day, the pronunciation of 'An' is just easier as we don't really pronounce the 'h'. I think MSN is wrong.
ReplyDeleteI watched and cried tears of joy.
ReplyDeleteBTW... It's nice to find people who think like I do. I may unpack my bags now and stay around here for a very long time. :)
