It's fall!

Caramel Apple Time

Oh sure, I could show you beautiful leaves, colorful fall scenes, flocks of birds gathering to fly south or any number of other things fall. But the thing that signifies fall is truly here at our house is this:

Andy loves caramel apples and I usually make them for him every fall. These are dipped in melted caramel, then stuck in big chunks of walnuts...I never use peanuts... then they have melted milk chocolate drizzled all over them...just sort of slapped on if it won't drizzle, as was the case last night when I made these.

Most people go face first into their caramel apple. We prefer to cut them off the stick and eat them with a fork a piece at a time. It's much neater but definitely not as much fun!

Dead Like Elvis

Did you know that Elvis Presley earned $52 million dollars this year? He's the top of the dead celebrity earnings list and he didn't lift a finger! (Okay, that was a bad one!!) Others on the list include Marvin Gaye, Albert Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Charles Schultz, Heath Leger and Paul Newman.

  1. I used to eat caramel apples every fall, but I've resisted the urge this year.

  3. Num-eee! I've always wanted to try and make caramel apples, but never have. I suppose the rest of them are for your co-workers? (The lucky stiffs!)

  5. Whoa! Those babies look serious! (and, of course, good for you because of the apples!)
Fall is here, too. They're calling for snow showers tonight and tomorrow morning. It's extremely windy. The deer have been grazing all hours of the day and night (never a good sign) and are out there as I type this. When I got to chase them, they just look at me. One gestured rudely....
