Morchella esculenta

My sister went mushroom hunting on Mother’s Day. She generously shared her bounty! I had them for dinner last night. They were delish.

Morels sizzling in the pan. I just saute them in butter.



Since I haven’t been out mushroom hunting this spring, I don’t have a photo to show you of what they look like when they grow. Here’s a pic I found on the internet.



They're fun to hunt (except for the occasional snake) and there’s nothing like running across that “bonanza” on a hillside. My sis and 2 of her adult kids found about 400 Sunday!
