Foto Friday...the letter Sssssss

Salvia
... one of my favorite backdrops for the roses.

Sandburg, Carl... This is his birthplace.

His burial place, in the back yard of his home, it's called Remebrance Rock...

Straw hat...this one hangs on my front door.

  1. I love salvia but wish it had a longer bloom time. It sets off the color of so many plants.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  2. I love salvia too - but I'm not as successful with it as I'd like to be!

    Cool Sandburg photos, Gin...XOXO

  3. Are you close to Sandburg's birthplace?

I love the color of your front door, and the hat is very pretty.

  4. Cheryl, I love that salvia attracts bees and a stray hummer or two also!

Sis, I've been cheating and using photos I already have. This is such a busy time of year for me. School is winding down and there are lots of field trips that take up our free time and many people are absent, using up their sick days...LOL... and they need the rest of us to sub on their routes. Not to mention the garden chores that seem never-ending! haha

Yes Ruth, we live about 50 miles north of Galesburg, Il., that's where he was born and where these photos were taken. I get all kinds of "cracks" about my purple shutters and front door, but they have thankfully faded to more of a soft egg plant, the color they were supposed to be in the first place! I'm glad you like it, I do too!! Our house is yellow and my artist muse told me to paint the appointments purple! ;)
