A couple black sex-link chicks

A Rhode Island Red...Green?? (she was marked as a girl with green marker)

A couple Easter Eggers...they will lay blue and green eggs (also marked females)

I gotta go check and see if Malc had piglets yet! Well, NOT Malc, but Kim and Molly. And then out to do some chores.
Oh, they're cut. I can't wait to see what they look like as hens.
ReplyDeleteGin they are adorable! Great photos too!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the easter eggs. What are you going to do with all those egg when they start laying??
ReplyDeleteHow in the world do they get the chickens to lay COLORED eggs? :>O
ReplyDeleteRuth, I hope they turn out as cute as hens as they are as chicks!!
ReplyDeleteJackie, coming from you (one of the best photogs I know) that's a great compliment!!
Fiwa, I love the look of the pale pastel eggs. That's why I wanted this breed of chicks. I had them years ago when I had chickens and they laid the most gorgeous shades of green and turquoise eggs! People at work are already lined up to get home-grown eggs! I won't have a bit of trouble getting rid of the extras!
Tink, hi good to see you!! Colored eggs? It's all about breeding! Isn't that always the way! LOL
Very cute. Always makes me wonder how something that cute can turn into something as freakish as a hen.
ReplyDeleteHi Malc...yeah, hens can be rather freakish for sure! But get very attached to mine and try to overlook the freakishness. I just visited your blog and see there are no piglets yet. But you predicted Sunday? I sure hope so!!
ReplyDeletethey are so sweet looking, ginni.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you today. I was in a farm supply store today looking for a hard to find kind of tomato cage, and they had chicks! I was so excited. I tried to take pics, but they didn't come out good. You know what they look like anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful baby chicks! I am so jealous. :)
