Oh and by the way, our bedroom downstairs now looks finished and great. All we need now are 3 folding doors for the 2 closets and the room door. And with a little more decorating it will be all done! The old bed fits in there so well!
I have had a busy day today!! First I had to work and got a notice this morning that I had to take a random drug test. So I had to fly to the work fitness center after my route and make a GOLDEN donation...LOL! It took forever to get my turn because the place was packed with people waiting for their randoms, their physicals, or their physical therapy from work-related injuries. I was there over an hour! My poor monitor was waiting in the bus for me (in order to make my appointment, I had to take my bus straight from my last drop off to get my test!). Oh well, she survived and she will get an extra hour of time for just sitting there!
Then when I got home, we took right off to go to the chicken hatchery to pick up the chicks that were being held for me. The lady is going to be gone tomorrow and Saturday, so I had to get them today. I got 11 more chicks. I have someone who wants any males I have so that's a plus! Four of the chicks were Golden Comets, which are sex-link chicks (the males are all white and the females are GOLDEN ...so we know they are all females) and I also had ordered four Buff Orpingtons. They make the sweetest, most beautiful hens...they're big and very fluffy GOLDEN hens...very quiet and peaceful. They were straight run (not sexed, so you have NO idea what you're getting) and since I wanted to hopefully end up with two of that breed of hens, I got four to insure that I'd have at least one, or two if the odds work out like they should. I also got 3 little black Barred Plymouth Rock chicks she had leftover from her Tuesday hatch. I would love to have one of these in my flock just because they are such an old fashioned breed...they are fat and fluffy checkered black and white chickens. Anyway, I now have 17 chicks and hope to end up with at least 8-10 females! At least I know I have 4!!
It just started raining here and it's been kind of a gloomy day. We were going to finish the chicken coop today but it will have to wait until tomorrow maybe. And then, there's always this weekend! All we have left to do it put a couple of support boards across the top and then put the chicken wire on. I have the chicks in two half barrels in my kitchen and hope they can go into the coop soon. They grow so fast!! I just hope we get it all done before they take over here!!

Awww...I'm glad you had a Golden day. Well, except for the "golden showers" that is. ;)
ReplyDeleteYay for no knee pain - I hope the bed continues to work out for you.
And we'll get to see pictures of the remodled bedroom, right?
it has been the craziest week of my life...
ReplyDeleteand i miss the freakilicious baby chicks.

i love them. i can't wait for mine now.
Lots and lots of chicks. And the coop looks so professional. I wish I had carpentry skills. I'd take a course if I could find one. I'm catching up on all the missed posts now. Can you tell? Your bed sounds like it's going to work out. Good thing.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend! I'm cruising the blogs on a Saturday night. I don't get out much!
