L is for Land...here's a shot of some drab Iowa farmland. It will soon be plowed, planted and green! You can see the Mississippi River bluffs in the distance.

L is for Ledge...these trees looked like they were trying to escape from some unseen scary thing and leap from a tall ledge! (Okay, so I have a vivid imagination!)

This house is right on the edge of this ledge!

L is for Light! I love the way the sun's light danced across the Mississippi River as we drove along river road.

L is for Lowlands...you can see the flooding we've been enduring along the river road. This is what happens when snow melts up north and fills the Mississippi to flood stages!

L is for Lines...I loved the look of this new church being built. It was all framework! I hope for the congregations' sake, they are going to add some sort of siding!
These are cool, Gin!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that sun's light, and I'd also like to see a photo of that church when it gets finished...
XOXO
Enjoyed your photos. You did a great job with the letter L. Love the photo of the escaping trees and the house on the ledge. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI had never seen the Mississippi until 2005 and visited Hannibal, Missouri. Also crossed it earlier in the trip when we passed from Tennessee into Arkansas. It is a beautiful river but am certain that it could be devastating in a time of flood.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Blessings,
Mary
Great photos! Wasn't today the day you went to get your chickies?
ReplyDeleteI love architecture. very cool pics - The house looks like Frank Lloyd Wright. The church is very prairie style emotive. Wellcome to chickenhood - Your gonna love their silly little asses.
