It's 33° and raining here in our neck of the woods. I'm sticking around home today. It's a good day to paint a picture. If my Muse cooperates (She's a moody sort!) I'm going to get out my watercolors and try to create a painting, while Andy watches the Daytona 500. I think that's the NastyCar race that's running today. I don't do NastyCar, so I'm not sure. Anyway, I need to paint the pictures I'll exhibit this summer and I need a summery thing to do. This winter stuff is getting a bit wearing. I usually need about 10 pieces of artwork to get me thru the showings I compete in and so far I only have one. Last summer I waited until the last two weeks before the exhibits to get started painting. It took me every bit of the time I had left and I felt like I had a brush or pencil in my hand the entire two weeks. I promised myself that I will get them done long before I need them, this year. I'm notorious for pushing deadlines. It was really bad when I was a reporter!
Oh yeah, and it's
GTS...Green Thumb Sunday! So here are my selections for today.
I have a cute little crooked crabapple tree that I grew from an apple off my old crabapple tree! It's so pretty when it blooms and smells so good. It happens sometime in April, usually. I look forward to seeing this tree in full bloom in a couple of months. Oh how I look forward to it!

Have a fun-filled day!
We had a beautiful crab apple tree in our front yard. Except when it was time to mow. All those rotted little apples that needed to be picked up. My parents chopped it down. I never knew if it was because of the mess or something else. I'll have to ask. I have a love/hate relationship with my pear tree because of the mess it makes. But, boy is it pretty when it's in bloom.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to you. We may be the only two not watching the race.
your crabapple photos send me to the moon.
ReplyDeletestay warm, ginnigirl.
I've never smelled apple blossoms. Now I want to. The flowers are lovely, and so plentiful Do you get a lot of crabapples? Happy GTS,

Gin I know you'll do great on your paintings (you're so talented!)
ReplyDeleteYou grew that apple tree from a seed! It's gorgeous.
I just started some seeds from a Fuji apple last month. They all germinated but two just damped off. I have three that are doing good. I wonder how many years I'll have to wait to see blooms and apples???
Ginni, your crabapples are gorgeous but I have to tell you that your photos are excellent! I am loving your technique.
