Busy Monday...Photo Hunter AND Odd Shots!

Photo Hunter word for this week is WOODEN. I have this wooden box sitting on my computer desk. It used to hold Cuban cigars! Well, at least the box isn’t illegal, is it?? I sure hope not! It has interesting stuff printed on the bottom and a paper seal, still on it. It’s sort of timely since Fidel Castro just turned over his power to his brother …maybe soon Cuban cigars won’t be illegal? And NO, I don’t smoke them! LOL

Today is also Odd Shots Monday.
This is a photo of an old barn that's out in the country near my neighborhood that finally gave up the ghost. It collapsed last summer.

Here’s what it looked like before the fall.

  1. Hi, Ginni Dee. I found your blog because I just found out about Weekly Word Challenge, and was reading the comments to look at people's pictures, and...found you! Your photography is wonderful - I also have the bug, also love needlework - was born in Illinois - seems we may have quite a bit in common. Anyway, I especially love Rosie! I, too have a chihuahua - she's black and white, 8 years old, 3.2 pounds, answers to the name of Cleo. She is a total daddy's girl, but she loves her mommy too. I just love Rosie's life lessons! I will be entering Weekly Word Challenge for the first time Tuesday - it should be fun! Just wanted you to know that I had dropped by, so I'm leaving the comment here...

  2. Not sure what is odd about an old barn . . . now, if you had taken a photo of the collapsed barn, that might be considered odd. Looks interesting tho and definitely historical!

  3. Poor barn!
Cigar boxes are very useful, aren't they?

  4. I like all those shots... I guess the old barn wasn't worth restoring, but recycling that wood... what a treasure.

  8. The barn was just ready to go. I have a plan to drive around and take pictures of barns.

  9. Well, now that you told me to come back and see the second photo of the collapsed barn, I woould say it fit the theme but what happened to the silo? Is that a shot of it from a different side?

  10. Paulie, I think you need new glasses! Hahaha...just kidding, I think! The silo is right there in both shots. Just a bit different angle and zoomed up a little bit closer. But the same side of the barn.

The collapsed shot of the barn has been there the entire time. :) Honest, it has!!

  11. Cool wooden box - so, are the cigars in it or do you put other things in there?
