My three sisters and I are going on a trip this weekend. We’re going to our cabin in NW Iowa, on Lake Okoboji. It’s about 400 miles from home, but we need to go up and check the cabin to be sure it’s okay. The weekend proves to be a rough one weather-wise so any good thoughts you can send our way would be appreciated. The low temp, when you factor in the wind-chill, is forecast to be –25°F. That would be about –32°C. Colder than a well digger’s posterior no matter how you put it! Here’s a photo of our corner of the lake in the summer…I’ll be sure to bundle up and step outside for a second or two to get some photos of the lake in winter for a comparison.

I’m taking a large can of cocoa mix and a bottle of peppermint schnapps…that will warm us very nicely!
Hope you have a great weekend and I’ll try to post from the lake if I can get internet connectivity.
Be careful ms. ginni.
ReplyDeleteYour property is just gorgeous!
Just thinking about all that cold is making me shiver. Take good care, Ginni. Should I tell you that we're expecting temps about 100 degrees different from yours?
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! I can't get over how cold it's going to be though - stay warm, and I'm looking forward to seeing the winter pictures.
ReplyDeleteDrive safely -

Oh, I wish I could come! It's gorgeous and I bet it's even more beautiful covered with snow.
ReplyDeleteWe got our first wintry mix of the season today - sleet and rain, with some snow flurries - but alas, nothing that would stick...
Have fun and be safe,
XOXO
