Being cozy if everything. Just ask Rosie! She gets cold so easily and the temp has been hovering around zero° the past few days, so she’s been burying herself into anything she can find to stay warm…even tho she never goes outdoors! (JFTR she has a potty box, like a cat box only with piddle pads in it) The house feels a bit chillier than usual, even tho we have the heat turned up.
After getting a really cozy blanket from my sister Gloria, as a belated birthday gift a couple weeks ago, I just had to make Rosie one of them. With 5 bux worth of fleece and about 5 minutes to cut and tie it, I made her a cozy cover of her very own. Actually hers is more of a sack, than a blanket.
She has already taken to it and crawls into it’s soft fleecy goodness whenever she wants to nap. I made one for the living room and one to go in our bed so she can get all cozy at night too.
I highly recommend this if you have a dog that loves to be warm and snuggly.
Here’s a pic of Rosie in her sack. She’s only had it about an hour and is already in love with it! It’s just so soft, who can blame her!!

Thought for the day…

That is immense!! She looks snugglier than a snuggly thing in Snugglesville.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could make them for mine - Pad is too big for one, really. Anyway, they already have one they share - my ruddy bed! I spent my married life sleeping on the edge and now I'm back on the edge because of the pack. Life on the edge, eh? It sucks.
I WANT ONE! How many yards do you think...wait, don't answer that. HAH!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll just make one for Zeus and call it good.
I love your Rosie...
XO
Ginni, that is so cute. I never thought about poor little dogs like Rosie - what they do when it gets that cold. They have zero body fat, so it stands to reason they'd feel the cold more than some.
ReplyDeleteAw! We have blankets strewn around the house for the dogs to curl up in. Whenever one goes missing we just walk around and pat the various piles. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI could go for one of those blankies right now. It's so cold here. I love how Rosie is tucked inside. Stay warm you two.
ReplyDeleteReg, I think you should make one for Padfoot and your other pups too! It would just have to be huge! haha
ReplyDeleteSis, I think my sister made them out of fleece that was 2 1/2 yards long and 60" wide. She made them extra long so our feet would stay covered up when we are sitting in front of the TV or at the computer all covered up! Be sure if you do it, you get two pieces of fleece that size and a good sharp pair of scissors. There are directions on the internet on how to make them for people. Give it a shot, You'd love them when you're camping!
Fiwa, that's why we thought of making Rosie a couple of these. She's so spoiled!
Tink, I couldn't find Rosie this afternoon and thought she was in the bedroom on our bed, but she was right under my nose all tucked into her cozy sack!
Cheryl, these are so easy to make! You should give it a try, you'll love it!!
ginni, she is a cozy as a bughug in a rug.
ReplyDeleteThat is too adorable! Nikki has commandeered two fleece blankets as her "corale". These get wrapped around her like those cat beds - you've probably seen a few photos of her in her corale.
ReplyDeleteRosie looks so cute, cute as a snuggle bunny :). Lovely piece of rose fabric as well. I have been wanting to try crazy quilting this winter, now sure if it will happen or not, I love fabric of all kinds.
