Winter Teas(e)

Who woulda ever thought of making eggnog or gingersnap tea? Well, when I saw the packaging, being in the holiday mood that I was, I just had to try them.

After the movie Happy Feet, who among us could resist tobogganing penguins… great marketing … the tea is called “Eggnogg’n”. The eggnog isn’t too bad, really. It’s sort of buttery (they call it creamy, but it’s more like an artificial butter flavor...not my fave, but not terrible either) and spicy. I added a packet of Splenda and it makes it sweet and cozy.

The other one, decorated with a fat snowman and a gingerbread house is called “Ginger Snappish”…sorta sounds like pissed off Labrador retriever. It’s supposed to have a hint of lemon…it’s more like a hit of lemon. In fact, it should be called “Lemon Snappish”! The ginger gets sort of lost behind the lemon. It’s actually quite a lovely herbal, no-caffeine tea. I enjoy a warm cup of herbal tea at night. This will fill the bill nicely! I like it better than the eggnog flavor, but the eggnog has caffeine so I will drink a cuppa that while I’m getting ready for work in the morning!

I love tea…it’s comforting and makes me feel good. It’s benign and refreshing. But the clincher was the penguins and snowman! I’m a real sucker for penguins and snowmen.

Thought for the day…

Walls for the wind, a roof for the rain
and tea beside the fire.
Laughter to cheer you, those you love near you
and all that your heart might desire.

  2. I'm hooked on green tea with jasmine right now. It's the first green tea I've found that I like. But today is so cold, it's a hot chocolate day!
