Insomnia

Ever have one of those nights where you get sort of an extended nap... usually just enough to get you kind of rested from the day before... and then you wake up and all kinds of horrors come to your mind, making you fret and worry the entire rest of the night?

The worrying tends to wire you up enough so you're wide awake until 15 minutes before the alarm goes off...then all of a sudden you fall asleep and have a hell of a time waking up to the alarm, let alone getting up! This is when you hit the snooze bar two too many times, making you realize you just killed 16 minutes you really needed to get finished with all your morning cleansing rituals. That luxurious bath you planned turns into a power-shower, shaving your legs is out of the question and styling your hair turns into barely getting it dry. Once you finally become conscious enough, you wonder what in the heck you were so worried about last night. In the light of day all those horrible problems of the night seem so easily solvable!

You drag thru your day pumping caffeine all morning until you're not just any old zombie, but a zombie that could win a speed talking competition. Your body keeps trying to pull you back into La-La land, and all the while your mind is racing with the minutia of the day. What a freakin' joy ride that is!!

Well, enough of this. I have 15 minutes left to sleep and I'm really starting to fall asleep here.

I'm going back to bed!

Thought for the day...

"You don't really expect a thought for the day at 4:30am, do you?"

  1. Girl, I inheirited that "gift" from my mom. Sometimes I think it's better to just get up and do something else for a bit. Read a book or watch a little tv.

I wonder why it's always such ridiculous stuff that I worry over too?
